Farmers in South Korea Battle the US Military

Daechuri, a village of less than 1,500 full time residents has become the most recent symbol of dissatisfaction with US military presence amongst a vocal segment of the South Korean public. Daechuri, set to be evacuated by the end of June is a small farming community 40 miles south of the capitol, Seoul. The village will be seized to make way for the expansion of the US military's Camp Humphreys, which is set to triple in size.

When absolutes clash

The battle over abortion is rooted in clashing absolutes. The right of liberty versus the right of life. It has been dressed up by proponents of both sides, but putting lipstick on a pig doesn’t change the fact it is, indeed, a pig. And since the very composition of the arguments both for and against abortion are etched into our national identity, the topic never seems to be far from the public eye - especially during election years.
