Europe’s Massive Economic Dilemna

by on July 25th, 2004

In “Fortress Europe keeps doors barred,” many of Europe’s most pressing economic and cultural problems are revealed in detail.

Europe is clearly suffering from an aging population and the cultural hang-ups of employing young workers, who are often foreigners from the Middle East and Asia. By ignoring their human capital and keeping their workforce tightly inbread, innovation and growth have been sorely stunted.

Even organizations and efforts attempting to solve these problems have been largely unsuccessful. Cultural stereotypes and racial barriers have made the situation so bad that the article mentions – “If it says Mohammed on your CV, you may never be invited to an inter- view.”
