April 21 (Bloomberg) — North Korean leader Kim Jong Il probably asked Jiang Zemin, chairman of China’s Central Military Commission, to help convince the U.S. to change its policies toward the North, South Korea’s JoongAng Ilbo newspaper said.
Kim met Jiang, president until last year, for 1 1/2 hours in Beijing yesterday morning, the paper reported, without saying where it got the information. Kim also met Premier Wen Jiabao and National People’s Congress Chairman Wu Bangguo, it said.
