Palestinian group: no peace

by on December 6th, 2003

The Palestinian Islamic Jihad, an offshoot of the Muslim Brotherhood that spawned both Hamas and the PIJ, has vowed to continue terrorist attacks in the face of a new peace agreement with Israel.

According to the Arab Internet paper Al Bavvaba, the office of the group in Gaza issued a statement Saturday, which says: “We remain loyal to the principle of resistance as a strategy to put an end to occupation. We will comply with no agreement unless it is based on this principle.”

It’s precisely why Israel should not be making peace treaties with terrorists and those who wish to push the tiny nation into the sea. Their enemies won’t let up, so why should Israel sit idly by as they vow to continue their attacks? Granted, world opinion has shifted in favor of the Palestinians lately, and each and every non-submission to the peace process will be looked upon unfavorably by the rest of the world. If only world opinion would shift against terrorism, sending a clear message to those who resort to such despicable means that the rest of the world won’t stand for it.
