A new USA Today/CNN/Gallup poll shows President Bush leading his Democratic challenger, John Kerry, by a margin of eight percentage points.
Conducted October 14-16, the new poll shows Bush with a large lead over Kerry just weeks prior to the general election.
Among likely voters, Bush leads 52-44. Among registered voters, Bush is ahead 49-46.
At the same time, new Washington Post and Newsweek polls have Bush and Kerry in a statistical dead-heat.
A Reuters/Zogby poll puts Bush up 46-44, within the poll’s 2.9 percent margin of error.
So who’s winning? Who knows? But the only leads of late have gone Bush’s way, and an ABC News tracking poll has Bush as November’s likely winner, 56-33.
I’d put my money on Bush.
