Oct. 23 (Bloomberg) — U.S. President George W. Bush and Democratic challenger John Kerry are statistically tied in a Newsweek poll, which last week showed Bush leading by 6 percentage points, and in a Reuters/Zogby tracking poll. Bush leads Kerry in a Washington Post tracking poll.
Bush led Kerry 48 percent to 46 percent among likely voters in a three-way race with independent candidate Ralph Nader, according to an Oct. 21-22 Newsweek poll, which surveyed 880 likely voters. Last week Bush had a 50 percent to 44 percent edge in the poll, which has a margin of error of plus or minus four percentage points.
