Now that Republicans have drawn massive attention to the confirmation of so-called “controversial judges,” a look back at what liberal icon and presidential candidate Al Sharpton said last week about nominee Janice Rogers Brown is in order.
On Wednesday, Sharpton called on Senate Democrats not to filibuster Brown, who has been nominated to serve on the U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia, saying she should get a clear up-or-down vote.
A few days later he changed his mind.
Sharpton’s office released a statement urging senators ”to do everything within their means to prevent” Brown from being confirmed.
A glimmer of hope in an otherwise clouded mind.
