In the end, a crass old man said something rude, because he couldn’t say something intelligent. And while I certainly don’t approve, unlike Cheney (and other proponents of the Patriot Act), I hold the first amendment dear- and realize the vice-president is entirely within his rights to say what he did. Besides…what did you really expect from a guy named Dick?
