Time for Dean-iacs to Put up or Shut up

by on January 29th, 2004

Normally, I’m not the type of person to give advice to my opponents, but from time to time I make an exception. This is one of those times.

We’ve all heard about the huge grass roots support for Howard Dean. We’ve heard about the numbers of disaffected voters who have flocked to the Dean Campaign. Dean himself has threatened that if he doesn’t win the nomination, millions of his supporters won’t vote.

Well you Dean Supporters, it’s time to put your money where your mouths are. Your leader is in dire straights. Your leader is on the brink. Your leader needs your cold, hard, cash.

As we speak, Howard is asking his staff to take pay cuts. He is being forced to pull his campaign ads. He is running out of money. It seems you can’t run a campaign without dough.

I have to admit I was shocked that this was the case. I heard about all the grassroots support and assumed they were donating money. Apparently not. Apparently these disaffected voters are so out of it that they don’t realize that it takes more than wishing for dead soldiers, and comparing Bush to Hitler to make a campaign run.

The time has come you Deanie Babies. Time to ask Martin Sheen where his donations are. Time to ask MoveOn, and Al Gore, and Babs Streisand, and Sean Penn, and all the others who say that Dean is the future of our country.

Time to tell them that words are good, but cash is better. Because if you don’t, Dean’s campaign is doomed, and you won’t be able to blame Bu$Hitler and the conservatives.

Because at least one conservative has tried to warn you.
